He Mihi

Ka whakapakari a TAKROT i ngā ākonga, e poipoi ana i te reo me ngā tikanga Māori. Ka tiaki hoki i ngā taonga a kui mā, a koro mā.

Te Ataarangi ki roto o Tainui Incorporated Society (TAKROT) is one of 10 regions (rohe) of Te Ataarangi that covers the area from South Auckland across to Hauraki, inland to Mangatoatoa, down to Mokau in the south, and across to the King Country, including part of Taumarunui.

Te Ataarangi is comprised of independently operating regions . Each rohe organise local community-based classes and immersion gatherings. Regional-coordinated activities represent the needs and interests specific to their community at a local level, and foster the development of the next generation of speakers. This structure has allowed tribal dialects and vocabulary to flourish.
